Women Safety and condition of women in India

Safety of women is a social problem; it needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Half a population of women in the world suffers from physical, mental, and social status. Women are to be in danger at any place from a public bus to a private car or from their school to home, almost every place is unsafe for women, but why? Why women are so unsafe? What can we do to keep our female population safer?

Let us talk about our own country. India is ranked 133 out of 167 countries according to women, peace, and security index. The crime rate against women safety is skyrocketing. Women in our country are neither safe at home nor at public places. The maximum rape or harassment cases are by some family members. This is a shame on our culture and people. Of course, not every household is the same, but some are. According to some reports, every 20 minute a girl is raped in our country. Everyday thousands of girls must go through harassment, physical abuse, and mental abuse at workplaces.

We have problems but with these we got some solutions too. Our government has implied various organizations for workplaces, police helpline numbers at public places, female officers in railways to take care of women, every place has some number of female employees that makes the customers more comfortable. Government can only do the work on the ground level but we as citizens must make sure that everything goes perfect. We must make sure that the women around us are safe. This will start from our own houses. We must speak up and protect the one we love.

Women are a delicate part of society who is the important source of our generations. We have to keep them safe in order to keep our generations safe.

We must continue to amplify the voices of those who are challenging mainstream narratives of violence. We should continue to shift norms and challenge violence in ways that create new conversations that women’s lives and bodies are their own, and they matter.
